last night i heard two people harmonizing on zoom they were quarantined together, and sharing a song, at an evening of song-sharing and my heart grew as big as the space between two suns (and melted as if from both of their heat!) i forgot what it sounded like to receive the blend of two voices holding each other like hands on a third date filling each others' empty spaces adorning and being adorned i cried at a two-part harmony yesterday because somehow it's the one thing we haven't yet been able to fake in this space-age apocalypse that's taken hold


and hearing it is hearing the simple beauty of what was, and (...should i say it? dare i say it?!) will be
